PA502DE Introduction to Homiletics

Liturgical preaching in the Roman Catholic tradition is introduced. Students are prepared to preach through the three components of an effective homily: 1) Theological Message; 2) Spiritual and Intellectual Preparation; and 3) Style of Presentation. The Church’s documents on preaching the homily including: Fulfilled in Your Hearing and Preaching the Mystery of Faith are incorporated to ensure that the student has all of the objective components necessary for effective preaching.  This course is taken Pass/Fail.
